I have been involved in sports in one way or another since I was in diapers. Whether it was watching my brother in little league, cheering at my dad’s softball games, or learning to shoot layups as soon as I could walk, competition is simply a part of who I am. Educating and supporting athletes as they learn to maximize their competitive potential has become my passion and career.
I grew up in Nashville, a three sport high school athlete lettering in soccer, softball and basketball. I competed in club soccer from U12-U18, travelling from coast to coast, bringing home two state championships and regional tournament appearances. I was selected as the Mid-State Player of the Year for Middle Tennessee as a sophomore. My athletic career ended at the University of Richmond where a back injury left me sidelined before my freshman season even began.
A blessing in disguise, I was able to focus on my academics, graduated with degrees in Psychology and English and went on to pursue my Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology. After a 6-month placement in the UK as a consultant for promoting physical activity in girls at a private high school, I came back thirsting to add to my mastery of the mind. MTSU’s doctoral program in Health and Human Performance provided me the perfect fusion between the mental and physical aspects of performance. With a focus on physical education, exercise science, pedagogy and education, I now had all the tools I needed to help my clients master the MindBody connection.
